PENNSYLVANIA — Summer 2021 has been a chaotic time in Pennsylvania.

The past several months have seen the rapidly rising vaccination rate nearly obliterate the pandemic. Within a matter of weeks, things had abruptly changed course with the delta variant, cases were up, and old, deeply contentious debates of masks and mitigation strategies were revisited.

The state has also seen a spate of severe weather: from extreme, crippling heat to record flooding and numerous tornadoes, Pennsylvania has been a hotbed of the wild and the weird.
