Reporter/Times Herald Baseball Roundup: Floyd’s walkoff gives Wissahickon comeback win

Wissahickon 5, Abington 4 >> Seth Floyd hit a walk-off RBI double in the bottom of the seventh inning as Wissahickon rallied from four runs down in the SOL Liberty Division contest to claim their first win of the season.

Abington scored three in the top of the third then went up 4-0 in the fifth but the Trojans cut the deficit to  4-2 in the bottom of the inning then tied the game with pair of runs in the sixth.

Joe Hornig led off the bottom of the seventh with a walk then went to second on a sacrifice from DeFeo. A Tappen walk put two on for Floyd, who doubled to left to score Hornig.

Floyd finished 2-for-4 with an RBI, Hornig had two RBIs and Michael Fath went 2-for-3 for Wissahickon (1-3, 1-1 division). Danny Crump pitched the final three innings to earn the win, allowing one run that was unearned on four hits.

For Abington (1-3, 1-1), Matt Worek and Cody Frazier both hit RBI doubles in the top of the third with each going 2-for-3 at the plate. Alex Dardaris went 2-for-4 with a double.

Central Bucks East 8, Souderton 3 >> Central Bucks East scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth to hold a 6-1 lead and went on to best Souderton and remain undefeated.

Joey Wilga went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored for the Patriots (4-0, 2-0 SOL Colonials) with Jack Nugent finishing 1-for-2 with two walks, a double and scored three runs. Quinn Moody had a double and a run scored in going 2-for-3 at the plate.

Hunter Weitzel was 2-for-3 with a run scored for Souderton (2-1, 1-1 SOL Colonial).

East starting pitcher Gabe Marshall earned the win, allowing one run on three hits, walked to and struck out five.

Quakertown 10, Upper Dublin 7 >> Quakertown’s Vinny Pellegrini was 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored while Peyton Kochel went 2-for-3 with an RBI and scored twice as the Panthers picked up their first victory.

Quakertown (1-3, 1-1 SOL Liberty) led 4-0 after two innings then plated three in the fifth to go up 7-1. The Panthers’ advantage was 10-3 after a run in the top of the seventh – the seven-run margin proving to be useful as Upper Dublin (0-4, 0-2 SOL Liberty) scored four in the bottom of the inning.

Anthony Rostick had three runs for the Panthers while Justin Butler had two RBIs and Ethan Beil scored twice.

The Cardinals’ leadoff hitter Kyle Rizzo went 2-for-4 with a double, triple, RBI and run scored with Leo Soriano going 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored.
