WEST CHESTER, PA — A Chester County philanthropic foundation gave half a million dollars to local students over the past year.
The Chester County Community Foundation proudly awarded just over $500,000 in scholarships to 225 Chester County students in the last fiscal year.
During July, the first month of its new fiscal year, the Community Foundation has awarded just shy of half that much: $243,000 in scholarships to 108 Chester County students.
Scholarship Administrator Kevin Baffa and Business Affairs Associate Kaila Nogar processed the awards in compliance with Internal Revenue Service guidelines. The Foundation expressed “extra special thanks to the generous families and community groups who create and grow charitable scholarship funds, to give students opportunities to pursue their dreams.”
The Chester County Community Foundation is headquartered in West Chester’s historic Lincoln Building. The Foundation connects people who care with causes that matter so their legacy philanthropy makes a difference now and forever.
The Community Foundation holds nearly $90 million in trust and annually awards $4.5 million in grants and scholarships.
